Job description

Job Title: BIM/CAD Manager – Fabrication ServicesJob Description

This role leads a team of BIM modelers, CAD designers, and detailers to transform Revit-based project models into fabrication-ready deliverables using Stratus. The BIM/CAD Manager oversees day-to-day production workflows, maintains BIM and fabrication standards, drives quality control, and supports fabrication operations by delivering accurate and timely shop documentation. The position requires strong leadership, advanced Revit expertise, hands-on Stratus experience, and a deep understanding of construction, prefabrication, and BIM coordination processes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BIM modelers, CAD designers, and detailers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and project priorities to ensure production schedules and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Establish, document, and enforce drafting, modeling, and fabrication documentation standards across all projects.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and implement training and professional development initiatives for team members.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of fabrication-level Revit models at LOD 400 to support accurate prefabrication and installation.
  • Manage model utilization within Stratus to support spool generation, fabrication documentation, and production workflows.
  • Ensure accurate conversion of coordinated BIM models into fabrication-ready deliverables, including shop drawings and spool sheets.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, field operations, and fabrication teams to resolve design, coordination, and constructability issues.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for BIM models, fabrication drawings, spool sheets, and shop documentation.
  • Review project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established company standards and client requirements.
  • Support clash detection efforts, model coordination activities, and constructability reviews to minimize field conflicts and rework.
  • Maintain and update BIM templates, libraries, families, and fabrication standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation, optimized workflows, and BIM best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and fabrication solutions to enhance project execution and support continuous improvement initiatives within the BIM and fabrication departments.
  • Collaborate with virtual design and construction (VDC) stakeholders to align BIM and CAD practices with broader project objectives.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience working in BIM, CAD, detailing, or fabrication modeling environments.

Pay and Benefits
