Job description

Your role
As a CNC Machinist, your mission is to program, set up, and operate Swiss-type lathes for precision component manufacturing. Responsibilities include part inspection, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with engineering and quality teams in a safe, team-oriented environment. You will report to the Production Manager, Equipment Operations.
You will
  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision components to specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, collets, guide bushings, and other machine parts.
  • Perform offset adjustments, tool changes, and program edits at the machine control.
  • Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and CMM.
  • Write machine G-code programs using a CAD/CAM software based on part drawings and specifications from engineering.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with team members such as manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, and production staff
  • Support implementation of new products, tooling, techniques and processes
  • Foster a team-based learning environment for yourself and others
  • Promote a safe work area carrying out regular housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned.

To succeed, you will need

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in machining.
  • Set up and operate multi-spindle CNC machines
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Read, write, and edit G-code programs.
  • Set, use, and read precision layout and measuring instruments
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):
  • Lift and position parts weighing up to approximately no more than 50 pounds periodically.
  • Grip, push and pull carts loaded with parts.
  • Standing up for duration of the shift.
