Job description

The CAD Technician I is an onsite position based at our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, CO. This high-impact role combines technical expertise with real-world influence to produce accurate and detailed computer-aided design (CAD) drawings related to low voltage electrical systems in partnership with the engineering team.

What You’ll Be Doing

The majority of your time is spent designing and documenting advanced commercial security integration solutions that protect people, property, and business operations.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will use AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel daily to develop accurate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation for systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarm panels, remote access solutions, and IP camera configurations across a wide range of commercial environments.

System Design & Documentation

  • Create and revise 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (LINX uses AutoCAD and Bluebeam primarily)
  • Interpret sketches, specifications, and design instructions to produce accurate drawings
  • Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
  • Assist with design changes and updates based on feedback
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards and industry regulations
  • Perform basic calculations and measurements as needed


Project Collaboration

  • Partner with project managers, the engineering team, sales personnel and estimators to ensure timely project delivery
  • Partner with the engineering team to design and document commercial security integration solutions — including CCTV, Access Control Panels, Remote Access, Alarm Panels, & Configuration of IP Cameras— for a variety of buildings in commercial environments

Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Internship, apprenticeship, or hands-on CAD drafting experience in a business environment

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software (additional CAD platforms is a plus!)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with commercial building drawings, floor plans, and construction documentation

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and work autonomously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to low voltage, security, access control, CCTV, or alarm panel systems

Pay Rate:

$24.00 - $35.00 / hour
