Job description

McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company, is a regional, multidisciplined engineering consulting firm with more than 160 employees throughout four offices in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and Rogers. MCE is currently seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team in Fayetteville, AR. The CAD Technician’s primary job is to use computer software to convert designs into technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize “best practices” for CAD design
  • Create and prepare detailed working plans and/or scale drawings for projects from engineering field notes
  • Produce drawings in accordance with company CAD standards and specific project and client requirements
  • Effectively communicate with CAD manager, other CAD team members, and engineers
  • Revise plans per redlines or review comments and communicate with engineering and/or project manager if needed
  • Open to learning and embracing new technologies in the CAD/GIS spectrum to complete tasks related to job or assignment

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Survey
  • 2+ years of CAD design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Knowledge of and ability to:
    • Import, process, and analyze field data
    • Prepare ALTA survey designs
    • Design and develop surveys
    • Complete alignment sheets and drawing improvements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
