McClelland Consulting Engineers is looking for a full-time CAD Technician to join our Water/Wastewater team in Fort Smith/Fayetteville, AR. This job operates in a professional engineering office. The CAD Technician’s primary job is to use computer software, such as Civil 3D and AutoCAD, to convert hand drawings, CAD drawings, sketches, and designs into technical drawings. The CAD Technician will also assist in developing and maintaining CAD standards throughout the company.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize “best practices” for CAD design
  • Create and prepare detailed plans and/or scale drawings for civil engineering and structural engineering projects
  • Produce drawings in accordance with company CAD standards, specific project requirements and client preferences
  • Revise plans per redlines or review comments and communicate with engineer and/or project manager as needed
  • Open to learning and embracing new technologies to complete tasks related to job or assignment
  • Effectively communicate with all team members

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Drafting or Survey
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, specifically Civil3D
  • Ability to create and modify assets, materials, and annotation for CAD design
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
