Job description

School Nurse (Licensed, Non-Certified)

Responsible for providing nursing services to students in assigned building.

Maintain health and nursing services records for students

Identify school health problems and inform staff members and administration as necessary

Organize, schedule, perform, and record annual health examinations and screenings

Dispense prescribed medication and health services as directed by a physician order

Provide care for first aid, accidents, and illnesses

Complete state required paperwork and reports in a timely manner

Serve as a resource for staff and administration in regards to school health services

Serve on relevant committees and groups as needed

Serve as the liaison between parents and the school on all health related matters

Provide outreach to families for the collection of state required examinations and immunization records

Provide support for school related health pandemic concerns, including outreach, family contact, and reporting

Other duties as assigned by administration

LPN or RN active PA license is required

CPR/First Aid active certification is required

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

Ability to communicate orally and in writing

Must have the ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements

Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment
