The Manager, Engineering Systems will provide leadership and oversight to the Engineering Apps and Product Development support teams. Responsible for leading enhancements with systems, work flows, metrics, and data in regards to the Product Lifecycle Management system. This role will also act as an Engineering Applications Developer supporting day to day and long term needs of all Engineering Systems.
1. Lead the Product Development Support (PDS) and Engineering Apps Development (EAD) teams towards elevated service and performance. Ensure teams are properly supporting NPD needs and remain versatile to match changing needs.
2. Lead the selection, support, and enhancements of the Engineering Applications such as 3D computer aided design (CAD), Product Lifecycle, Management (PLM), and Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), etc. systems.
3. Maintain standards to control digital assets (i.e. product documentation, quality procedures, work instructions, CAD files, etc.) by supporting the engineering change and other processes regarding NPD and product data.
4. Regularly meets/collaborates with leaders of NPD and IT teams to understand current and future support needs: as well as, ensuring Engineering Systems are properly maintained and utilized. Communicates and plans for these needs.
5. Propose system upgrades needed to support NPD process and stay up to date with changing technologies.
6. Leads interviewing, providing feedback on candidates, and onboarding new hires. Provides documentation and requests for promotions, pay adjustments, performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and terminations to next level management
7. Create and Deliver performance evaluations. Discuss challenges and solutions with upper management.
8. Provide and monitor yearly budget needs for the department. Plans, justifies, and submits capital projects for the department.
9. Resolve user and system issues in a timely fashion for the areas of responsibility.
10. Manage relationships with vendors and oversee vendor interactions including day-to-day support, service tickets, and ad-hoc consulting services for the areas of responsibility.
11. Ensure risk and data integrity of PLM systems are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
12. Facilitate processes to ensure technical product data and product hierarchy is controlled and aligned across multiple business systems and sites.
13. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of role.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field required, three (3) years of relevant experience are required, and two (2) minimum years of leadership experience. ProductLife Cycle (PLM), Computer Aid Design (CAD) and Enterprise Analytics experience is required Experience using AS400 and Agile systems is a plus. Documentation control experience is required. Must posses strong analytical, planning, organizational, and conflict resolutions skills. Must have excellent leadership potential and demonstrated performance in delivering significant engineering projects. Must be capable of facilitating projects and solutions on time and within budget. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with employees across all levels within the company and a team environment. This role requires international travel; candidates must be willing and able to travel internationally as needed.
