Job description

Job Summary:
Energy Acuity is committed to empowering the global quality of life by helping customers make energy affordable and accessible. They are seeking a Senior Computational Engineer to join their Power & Energy Transition team, delivering software solutions to tackle the interconnection bottleneck for renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Translating traditionally manual grid study processes into well-structured, performant code;
โ€ข Maintaining and enhancing our SaaS application to meet the needs of current and future customers;
โ€ข Deploying and testing large-scale parallel-compute code on cloud-based infrastructure;
โ€ข Working with other members of the team to define product requirements, develop tests, and validate results;
โ€ข Your work will help project developers deploy more (and better) zero-carbon generation projects on the grid!
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Proficiency in Python; knowledge of C++ is a plus
โ€ข Experience in developing and shipping high-performance numerical products/backends, utilizing computational parallelization frameworks
โ€ข Skills in algorithms and data structures to efficiently solve complex numerical optimization problems
โ€ข Experience in deploying/maintaining/debugging software on a cloud environment such as AWS is a plus, especially utilizing tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS SQS/SNS, etc.
โ€ข Knowledge of power systems and power systems simulation is a plus
โ€ข Knowledge of numerical methods for simulation and/or optimization is a plus
โ€ข Knowledge of electronic design automation tools and methods is a plus
โ€ข BS/MS/PhD in EE/CE/ECE/CS is preferred, with 4+ years of experience developing and deploying applications.
