AFS is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and support our client on a full-time basis in Reston, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.
This role requires a technically skilled professional with strong hands-on experience across programming, database management, containerization, virtualization, and security practices. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in multiple programming or scripting languages, demonstrate proficiency in SQL and modern database technologies, and show practical capability with container or virtualized environments. Candidates must also have proven experience implementing security and compliance measures, including vulnerability scanning, governance tools, and secure data or API handling. This position is suited for someone who can apply broad technical expertise to support reliable, secure, and efficient systems within a dynamic environment.
Here's what you need:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or other related technical field, or 4 years equivalent experience
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages such as: Python, SQL, Bash, Java, C, or C++
  • Experience with SQL (or similar) and database technologies, including hands-on use of tools or platforms such as SQL Developer, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Experience with security and compliance practices, including vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus), governance/compliance tools (e.g., GRC), or secure data/API handling aligned with frameworks like GDPR

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with containerization or virtualization technologies, such as Kubernetes (K9s), Docker, or virtual machine environments
  • Provide on-call support 24/7 availability no more than one week every two months troubleshooting and mitigating issues across multiple systems
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CCSP, etc.), CompTIA Server+ and/or CompTIA A+ certifications

Clearance:
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
