Job description

Mechanical Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial HVAC equipment. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently, provide exceptional customer service, and accurately diagnose and repair a wide variety of HVAC systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before failure occurs.
  • Experience with diagnosis and repairs to chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems.
  • Service and repair rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, heat pumps, exhaust systems, ventilation systems, and variable air volume units (VAVs).
  • Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical system issues.
  • Perform compressor replacements, motor replacements, refrigerant leak repairs, and system start-ups.
  • Accurately document service activities, materials used, recommendations, and labor hours using company software.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding system conditions, repair options, and recommendations.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
  • Work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and dispatch personnel.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, gauges, recovery machines, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops.
