We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician / Field Technician / Sr. Field Technician in our Greenville, MS Compressor Station.ย 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and to assist with operations and maintenance of Texas Gasโ€™s facilities located in the Greenville, Mississippi area. This position will be responsible for environmental health & safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, corrosion control, valve inspection and maintenance, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, one-calls, preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station and compressor station, valve sites and right of way maintenance, and assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities. The facility consists of reciprocating natural gas fired engines, turbine compressors, and associated equipment. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response (HAZWOPER). This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and will be part of the on-call rotation related to pipeline and compression operations and for responding to emergency or abnormal situations. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Greenville Compressor Station facility located in Greenville, Mississippi, in order to respond to compressor station, call outs expediently.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a good driving record
  • 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work are required.
  • Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet.
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
