Job description

The Logistics Specialist supports the TSGs and shall provide comprehensive logistics support to all TSGs by managing and accounting for department property, including communications, chemical/biological, and personal protective equipment, using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). This responsibility includes tracking equipment, maintaining records, managing inventories and spares, and overseeing preventative maintenance schedules. Additionally, the contractor shall manage the vehicle and equipment fleet by executing the maintenance program, overseeing fuel cards and licensing, and coordinating repairs for vehicles, weapons, and night vision equipment. Furthermore, the contractor will handle shipping and mail coordination, including material acquisition, customs paperwork, and serving as an Alternate HAZMAT shipper, while advising leadership on logistics best practices to ensure equipment readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite Logistics Analyst support. This support includes, but is not limited to, communications equipment tracking, inventory support, shipping and receiving, material control, material acquisition, and HAZMAT handling.
  • Facility management. Submit and track work orders, escort/coordinate on-site workers. Assist TSG Security Manager and coordinate facility access. Synchronize all facility management efforts with Department Facility Manager.
  • Shipping and Organizational Mail Manager and Coordinator. Function as an Alternate TSG HAZMAT shipper for the Department. Coordinate customs paperwork.
  • Property Accountability and Management. Assist the Department leadership with maintaining TSG property accountability using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). Manage unassigned equipment and on-hand spares. Coordinate equipment transfers as part of the Department's Logistics Section.
  • Equipment and Vehicle Fleet Manager. Assist in the execution of the TSG vehicle maintenance program, manage gas cards/receipts and license plates. Coordinate maintenance efforts for vehicles, weapons, and night vision equipment. Assist in the maintenance of deployable TSG equipment.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • HAZMAT shipping qualified, or capable of qualifying within six (6) months.
  • Forklift operator qualified, or capable of qualifying within six (6) months.
  • Experience with US Air Force / US Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) movement and transportation requirements.
  • Minimum 7 years logistics experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting CBRN logistics operations to include receipt, tracking, shipping, and maintaining CBRN related equipment
