Job description

The VIGILINT Pharmacist will support VIGILINT organizational and business objectives by serving as an in-house subject matter expert for pharmaceutical therapeutics. The VIGILINT pharmacist will report to and work closely with the Director of Logistics. The pharmacist will be responsible for the implementation, direction, execution and evaluation of all VIGILINT pharmaceutical activities. The pharmacist will ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation and advising management on needed actions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
  2. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  3. Administers vaccinations as required.
  4. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
  5. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
  6. Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.
  7. Develops staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff and other health care professionals.
  8. Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  9. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  10. Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  11. Contributes to VIGILINT mission by accomplishing other duties as required.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • United States citizenship
  • Graduation from an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program
  • At least five (5) years' full time experience of clinical practice as a pharmacist
  • Active NC state license from the Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in operating a pharmacy program or pharmacy related business
  • Deployment experience as a member of the Armed Forces in support of combat operations, preferably with a Combat Support Hospital or similar element
  • Current Secret Security Clearance with background investigation within the last 5 years
  • Experience using Pioneer, Epic, Parata
