Job description

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Staff or Project Civil Engineer in Tennessee to work on various civil, solid waste and environmental related projects. You should be a quick learner, motivated, team-player, and have the desire to grow professionally. Projects focus on landfills and landfill infrastructure, solid waste management, including landfill gas, composting and composting facility infrastructure, and other similar type projects, which require AutoCAD skills, design, engineering, permitting, and construction inspections.

How you can make an impact

Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields Complete designs using 2D and Civil 3D AutoCAD drafting, mathematical calculations, etc Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plan and coordinate work, and represent us at meetings and conferences. Field work performed in varied terrain and weather will be required Office based tasks including: AutoCAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc. Business development including: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering required Minimum of 2 years of civil engineering design experience required (Solid waste-related experience is a plus) E.I.T. or P.E. strongly preferred Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required
