Job description

The Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering top-soil, compost, mulch, sand, and other landscaping materials to residential, commercial, and construction sites. The driver ensures timely deliveries, maintains vehicle safety, and provides professional customer service during deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate dump trucks or other commercial vehicles to transport topsoil and related
  • Deliver materials to customer locations, construction sites, and landscaping projects.
  • Load and unload materials using truck hydraulics or other equipment when necessary.
  • Inspect trucks before and after trips to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
  • Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules from dispatch.
  • Secure loads properly to comply with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance checks and report mechanical issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (Class A or B depending on truck type).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of safe truck driving practices.
  • Ability to operate dump trucks and understand hydraulic systems.
