Location: Wichita, KS

 Pay Rate: $90.00+/hour

EXPLEO GROUP USA is currently looking for a Senior Consultant Stress Engineer (Metallic/Composite, Fuselage, Structure) (Level 6) to join our team for an exciting new opportunity in Wichita, KS.

The Stress Engineer will apply knowledge of advanced engineering principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices to deliver high-impact technical solutions, while influencing long-term engineering strategy and ensuring compliance within assigned engineering programs.

This role is suited for a recognized industry expert who contributes to advanced problem-solving, innovation, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and prioritize work based on complex program deliverables and long-term objectives.
  • Perform and lead advanced stress analysis of aircraft metallic and composite fuselage structures using classical and finite element methods.
  • Review and challenge design changes, providing innovative and strategic solutions.
  • Evaluate fatigue, static, and damage tolerance requirements at a program level.
  • Lead development of stress substantiation reports and advanced technical documentation.
  • Define and review structural qualification plans aligned to OEM and regulatory frameworks.
  • Act as final authority on vendor stress reports, drawings, and technical submissions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal engineering outcomes.
  • Lead design reviews, present critical findings, and influence engineering direction.
  • Drive technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor senior engineers and contribute to organisational technical capability.
Qualifications
  • BS in Aerospace Engineering (Mechanical, Design, Structural or related discipline)
  • 20+ years of Aerospace Stress Engineering experience
  • Recognized expert in stress analysis (metallic and composite structures)
  • Extensive Boeing program experience required
  • Advanced expertise in static, fatigue, and transient analysis methodologies
  • Expert-level proficiency in Nastran, Patran, Abaqus
  • Strong background in both classical analysis and advanced FEM techniques
  • Deep knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
  • Proven ability to influence technical strategy and solve complex engineering challenges
