Position: Senior Structural Analysis Engineer
Location: West Melbourne, FL
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to support the design, analysis, and validation of advanced aerospace structures and systems. In this role, you will perform structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe components, mechanical systems, and equipment using both analytical and computational methods. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure structural integrity, performance, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver with strong technical expertise in aerospace structural analysis, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Perform static, dynamic, durability, and damage tolerance (DaDT) analyses of metallic and composite aerospace structures, mechanical systems, and equipment.
Conduct structural assessments using both hand calculations and approved engineering analysis tools and methodologies.
Develop and evaluate structural models to support design verification and certification activities.
Derive and analyze applied loads and internal load distributions using industry-standard engineering software.
Utilize tools such as FEMAP, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and other analysis and data management applications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
Support design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve structural performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project schedules and quality requirements.
Document analysis results and communicate findings clearly to engineering stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another STEM discipline, with 10+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis; or Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis; or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis.
Strong background in aerospace structural analysis, including metallic and composite structures.
Experience performing static, dynamic, durability, and damage tolerance analyses.
Proficiency with structural analysis and finite element modelling tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter, or similar engineering software.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting aircraft development, certification, or sustainment programs.
Knowledge of aerospace structural design principles and industry standards.
Experience with finite element model development, load generation, and structural substantiation activities.
Familiarity with composite material analysis and airframe structural design.
