Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Composite Tech to join our growing team! This role is structured as a short-term W-2 position (9 months), with potential extension depending on project requirements and demonstrated performance.ย You will be responsible for the creation, installation, and maintenance of prototype composite components. You will also be required to provide upkeep to the composite shop while assisting engineers and shop employees in various tasks including: maintenance, general fabrication, testing, inspection, assembly and other shop related activities.

What you get to do!
  • Create prototype aerospace parts for testing, proof of concept, and display
  • Work from solid models, engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications to build and assemble mechanical components
  • Perform prepreg and wet layup fabrication, including vacuum bagging, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing
  • Drill, torque, and install fasteners, rivets, and adhesives with precision
  • Fabricate tooling and molds using materials such as aluminum, composites, and wood
  • Assemble composite structures using RTV/Epoxy bonding, shimming, and fastening methods
  • Apply aerospace finishes, primers, and coatings to parts and assemblies
  • Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
  • Operate a wide range of calibrated tools, precision instruments, and metrology systems
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance shop safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Support first article builds and the transition from development to production
  • Troubleshoot and correct defects through rework, repair, or modification
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and shop personnel to solve fabrication and assembly challenges
  • Mentor entry-level engineers on composite layup, fabrication techniques, and best practices
What you will bring to the Team
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training, with 1-2 years of hands-on composite fabrication experience in a production or aerospace environment
  • Strong understanding of composite layup techniques, adhesive bonding, and mechanical assembly processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, solid models, and work instructions, including familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proficiency usingย precision measuring toolsย such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators
  • Experience with fabrication of tooling, molds, and fixtures using various materials (aluminum, composites, wood)
  • Working knowledge of metrology systems such as Romer Arm or other CMM tools
  • Capable of troubleshooting, reworking, and improving parts and assemblies to meet quality standards
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability toย multitask and adaptย to changing project priorities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Eagerness to continue learning new skills in areas such asย electrical systems, welding, additive manufacturing,ย andย engineering testing
  • A continuous improvement mindset focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence

The hourly rate for this position is $27- $40. This range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. ย Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
