Job description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Composite Tech.
Pay Rate: $21.21 to $33.81 per hour (depending on experience, location, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Contract Duration: 12 months (w/opportunity for extension)
Benefits:
  • coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan
  • eight (8) paid holidays

  • opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days

Experience/Education:
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Experience requirement ranges from one (1) year related composite experience to five (5) years of related experience in composite manufacturing processes.

Unique Skills:
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.

Purpose:
Perform one or more of the following composite part manufacturing functions: lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair, in a production environment.
Level I Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.
  • Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Support Lean activities.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Requires ability to read a interpret blueprints.
  • Read and interpret 6" scale.

Level II Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture a variety of composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Must be skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.

  • Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review.
  • Proficient at reading work orders, blueprints, specifications, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Must be skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.

Must be proficient at directing and monitoring the work of team members. Willing to perform the job functions of a team leader in their absence.

  • Must demonstrate leadership ability and possess good communication skills.

  • Proficient at reading work orders, blueprints, aircraft specifications, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
