Job description

Engineering Technician

7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday

Starting pay: $22/hr

The Engineering Technician operates the electro-mechanical test equipment for qualifying new engine components and new sources for engine components. The technician also accesses, creates or revises print packages and database information for new sensor applications and new vehicles. This includes determining the most appropriate sensor for each application, based on vehicle data, sensor characteristics, and manufacturing information. Other responsibilities include the evaluation of engine components on vehicles, procedures and specifications for sensor testing, modification of existing applications where appropriate, support for the manufacturing area, and design of sensor subcomponents.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates the test equipment for new engine components and new suppliers.
Creates and revises prints and database information for new sensor applications and new vehicles
Completes the supporting documentation for the print packages, which includes the BOM's, the print checklists, and the wiring diagrams, schematics, custom fabrication drawings
Assists design engineers in testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of new product design

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates engine components on vehicles
Maintains a system for tracking timing and backlog
Develops tests, specifications, and procedures for engine components
Because of the changing nature of our business, this job description will inevitably change. The employee will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Good understanding of Excel and familiar with Access, and Word
Understands basic electronic circuits
Previous experience with vehicles and engines
Flexibility to handle a variety of work assignments
Previous experience with engine components is preferred
