Summary

Make an impact where compliance, critical thinking, and problem solving come together. As a Compliance Testing Officer, you'll evaluate how well our business lines are meeting retail banking and BSA regulatory requirements, using a risk-based approach to design and execute testing that helps strengthen controls across the organization. A significant part of this role is research and critical thinking, as there isn't a process for every scenario and each test can look a little different from the last. This is a self-driven position for someone who enjoys digging into regulations, working through problems that don't come with a clear answer, and being viewed as a trusted advisor by the teams they support. If you like variety, independence, and work that genuinely influences how the business manages risk, this is a great fit.

Job Description

The Compliance Testing Officer executes risk-based testing across retail banking and BSA regulations and may assist with testing across our wealth divisions. You'll scope and design your tests, perform the testing, document your results, and communicate findings to management and the line of business, tracking any issues through to resolution. Because there isn't a precedent for every situation, you'll spend meaningful time researching regulatory requirements, forming a point of view, and helping business partners develop and validate effective controls. This role interacts regularly with senior and executive management, so the ability to clearly explain your thought process and the risk behind your conclusions is essential. Success requires strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to pivot and adjust when each test looks a little different.

Team Culture

This is a collaborative, communication-driven team that plans together, shares feedback openly, and works through challenges as a group. Weekly check-ins and informal roundtables give everyone a place to bring questions, talk through findings, and learn from one another, whether it's a regulatory question, a testing approach, or how to present to a business line. The work is structured, detailed, and documentation-heavy, so it suits someone who is naturally research-oriented and takes pride in getting things right. At the same time, it's a role with a lot of independence, so the right person is comfortable figuring things out when there isn't a sample to review or a process already built. People here are willing to both give and receive feedback, and they support one another through it.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Design and execute risk-based compliance tests across retail banking, BSA, and wealth regulations, adjusting your approach as each test requires.
  • Research regulatory requirements to determine compliance, including scenarios where there is no established process to follow.
  • Document testing, findings, and memos with the accuracy and detail the review process requires before results are shared with the line of business.
  • Partner with business lines to communicate findings, help develop controls, and confirm those controls are effective.
  • Present to senior and executive management, clearly explaining your thought process and the risk behind your conclusions.
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines across overlapping tests, issue validations, and other testing activities.
Education & Experience Requirements

The required level of knowledge is typically acquired through completion of a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance or related field and 5 - 7 yearsโ€™ regulatory compliance experience with at least 3 years in a compliance role or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completed or working towards completion of a professional certification (CRCM, CAMS, CFIRS, CIA, IAACP or equivalent) or applicable securities license.

  • Well-developed knowledge of Compliance regulations for financial institutions.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the impact of regulatory compliance to banking operations, lending and deposit banking activities, and wealth management, as applicable.
  • General understanding of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the impact of compliance requirements affecting banking operations, lending and deposit banking activities, and wealth management.
  • General knowledge of federally recognized examination procedures and strong ability to evaluate compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical ability and organization skills (collecting and evaluation of financial and other data to determine trends, core problems/solutions and overall compliance with accepted financial/accounting practices).
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to effectively represent self and BOKF, as well as ability to present complex information and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Advanced Excel and Word experience.
  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to effectively plan time, method, manner and sequence of own work assignments.
