Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Complex Liability Consultant for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Insurance Services clients in Morristown, NJ.
The Complex Liability Consulting (CLC) practice offers unparalleled expertise across a broad spectrum of mass tort and complex liability challenges, including insurance archaeology, policy analysis and mapping, electronic database solutions, allocation modeling, insurer negotiations, and claims and payment tracking. We are seeking a dynamic consultant to join and help grow this high-impact practice. This is an opportunity to make a significant financial impact for clients while delivering cutting-edge liability coverage expertise at the highest level within the industry's leading long tail claim consulting unit. Responsibilities :
  • Implement strategic plans and advanced technology to maximize clients' insurance recoveries for mass tort and complex claims such as toxic tort, environmental, pollution, asbestos, sexual assault, concussion, and other high-value claims.
  • Apply deep understanding of complex insurance programs and industry-specific knowledge; experience with insurance archaeology and legacy policy searches is a plus.
  • Provide insightful analysis and recommendations on insurance coverage for clients facing complex liabilities.
  • Manage insurer communications, including notice and tender processes, coverage position letters, and information requests.
  • Review policy documents to identify key provisions for policy management systems and coverage charts.
  • Evaluate cost share agreements and buyout offers to ensure client interests are protected.
  • Utilize both coverage expertise and business relationships to negotiate insurance coverage and loss allocation resolutions with adjusters on behalf of clients.
  • Adhere to company policies for timekeeping, expense reporting, and billing.
  • Drive financial recoveries from carriers on behalf of clients by presenting compelling coverage arguments and skillfully negotiating resolutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with client goals.
  • Expand consulting engagements by consistently delivering exceptional service and demonstrating high value.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients in shaping and refining project approaches, methodologies, and tools to effectively manage risk programs and initiatives.
  • Cultivate and deepen successful business relationships to grow client engagements.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of industry trends in risk management to generate actionable insights tailored to clients' business and risk environments.
  • Deliver the highest level of technical advice that drives optimal client outcomes.
  • Create client deliverables that showcase our value and enhance our reputation.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client requests, instilling confidence and enabling success.
  • Lead client needs analysis, develop project plans, and recommend effective approaches.
  • Use facilitative and diagnostic skills to help clients articulate complex challenges.
  • Conduct insurance archeology research for legacy policies.
  • Show the consultant mindset by proactively identifying and addressing client concerns or issues.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality.
Required Skills :
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience evaluating and negotiating coverage on multi year claims at an insurer, insurance archaeology firm, and/or law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Drive to utilize your expertise in long tail claim and emerging coverage issues at the highest level.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-end solutions that expand client engagements.
  • Recognized for superior, accurate and timely work by clients, project managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Creativity and effectiveness in developing materials that address complex client, project, and technical issues in every client interaction.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
