Summary/Objective

Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the picking and packing team within the warehouse. Ensures accurate, timely order fulfillment and implements continuous improvement strategies to optimize productivity, safety, and workflow efficiency

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily picking activities to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify, develop, and implement processes to improve picking efficiency and minimize bottlenecks. 
  • Reviewing work forecasts to determine your productivity requirements to meet the overall goals and objectives of the day.
  • Partnership with other Departmental Supervisors to ensure the balance of labor and workload are distributed appropriately
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans for efficient warehouse practices.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement corrective actions if needed.
  • Enforce operating instructions and safety policies.
  • Directly supervise the picking department, including hiring, coaching, and training employees.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for communication with various stakeholders.
  • Implement and verify effective strategies using minimal company resources.
  • Verify quality and productivity standards, write detailed reports, and present findings in meetings.
  • Follow strict safety procedures using computer software tools to measure performance.
  • Work well in a team environment, collaborating with other supervisors and Inventory staff to achieve objectives.
  • Possess strong independent skills to work with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and implement effective control processes to enhance productivity.
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse staff.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.


Required Education and Experience

HS Diploma/GED AA/AS BA/BS MBA/MS PHD

or equivalent combination of education and experience

Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Three to five years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


Additional Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, solve problems, and adapt to change.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop assigned staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Lead team to meet or exceed service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and onboarding of employees.
  • Assign and direct daily work, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and discipline as needed.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution and employee concerns.


Work Environment

  • Primarily operates in a warehouse environment.
  • Requires flexibility to adapt between warehouse floor activities and administrative tasks.
  • Regular use of office equipment, tablets, scanners, and related tools.


Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle products and equipment.
  • Must occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to see close, distant, and peripheral, as well as adjust focus.

  • No travel is expected for this position.
