Job description

Role Overview

Join us as a Complex Claims Director – TPA Oversight. In this role, you will lead the analysis, processing and resolution of complex bodily injury and third‑party property damage claims, ensuring prompt and cost‑effective outcomes while managing coverage, reserves and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and process bodily injury and third‑party property damage claims, gathering information to determine exposure.
  • Develop and execute proactive action plans for prompt, cost‑effective claim resolution.
  • Direct independent adjusters, control costs, and manage coverage evaluation.
  • Prepare coverage letters and coordinate with coverage counsel when needed.
  • Assess liability and resolve claims within established parameters.
  • Maintain accurate claim files, diaries and task timelines in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Process and pay invoices promptly and coordinate vendor referrals for investigation or litigation management.
  • Calculate and adjust reserves, monitoring accuracy throughout the claim life cycle.
  • Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences and trials.
  • Complete required state licensing examinations and continuing education.
  • Communicate with underwriters and internal partners on losses and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with TPA Governance, Relationship Management and Claims Financial teams to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of General Liability/Auto claims experience, including complex and high‑exposure bodily injury and property damage claims.
  • Advanced litigation claims management experience (ADR and mediation).
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
  • Technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts and claim handling procedures.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and champion technology‑driven change initiatives.
  • Creative problem‑solving skills and a track record of achieving business goals and objectives.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $104,600 – $125,000 per annum for positions based in Illinois. Eligible for a bonus per the applicable incentive plan. The role includes a comprehensive benefits package focused on health, wellness, financial security and professional development.
