Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This job requires that you learn and perform general mill operations. Other duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, organizing, painting, and labeling, and occasionally performing grounds duties such as cleaning and mowing, pest control, painting around chicken houses and other general areas. Other duties may be assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the mill areas - precise list to be determined by the mill manager of the particular location.
  • Responsible in assisting the mill manager with general mill operations.
  • Responsible for assisting with farm grounds duties such as mowing, painting, cleaning, water treatment, and pest control
  • Responsible for special grounds duties as assigned by the complex manager.
  • Responsible for becoming familiar with feed mill paperwork and inventory functions, including tickets, daily bin inventory, and reporting paperwork to the main office.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Previous experience in layer house operations, or general agricultural experience a plus.
  • Maintenance or mechanical ability helpful, but not necessary.
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Able to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Willing to comply with all Rose Acre's safety, employment, and GMP policies including working in a 100% smoke-free environment.
  • Ability to comply with the strictest standards for animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of bio-security in order to preserve the health and welfare of our birds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
