Position Overview
We have an exciting full-time opportunity for an Environmental Technician to provide field support on long-term monitoring and remediation sites at Navy bases in the Puget Sound region. This role may also support other EA projects in the region.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct field investigations and tests following project plans to support environmental, engineering, and scientific evaluations of pollutants in soil and water
  • Collect samples of groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil
  • Prepare and ship samples, coordinate with laboratories, and document field data and reports
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate multi-parameter equipment (e.g., water and air quality meters)
  • Inspect and maintain institutional controls, including land use restrictions, caps, drainage systems, vegetation, fencing, signage, and shoreline conditions
  • Perform site maintenance such as vegetation management, erosion control, invasive species control, and pesticide application
  • Accurately document field activities and observations

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or A.A. in environmental science or a related field
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work in office, field, and industrial environments
  • Team-oriented with the ability to follow schedules, scopes, budgets, and quality standards
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Valid driver's license
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain clearance for military installations

Desired Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of environmental field experience
  • Experience sampling groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction certification
  • CPR and First Aid training

Additional Information
  • Field Work: Yes
  • Travel: 50-80%, primarily local day trips with occasional travel to Alaska
