The Role:ย ย 

You'll collaborate across disciplines, mentor emerging professionals, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating technical, regulatory, and business challenges. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving difficult problems, building strong client relationships, and elevating engineering practice across a team. This full-time, exempt, hybrid role may be based in either our Seattle or Bellevue, Washington locations.


Lead & Innovateย ย 

  • Originate and grow client relationships while identifying new opportunities across Farallon's core practice areas.ย ย 
  • Develop cleanup strategies grounded in strong conceptual site models and regulatory insight.ย ย 
  • Prepare and oversee feasibility studies, pilot testing, remedial system design, bid specifications, and engineering drawings.ย ย 
  • Develop and review remedial cost estimates across the lifecycle of a project.ย ย 

Drive Projects Forwardย ย 

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through site assessment, investigation, remedy selection, construction, and closure.ย ย 
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and quality across multiple complex projects.ย ย 
  • Ensure technical excellence in deliverables including RI/FS reports, Cleanup Action Plans, Engineering Design Reports, and Cleanup Action Reports.ย ย 
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and project partners.ย ย 

Elevate the Teamย ย 

  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff engineers and scientists.ย ย 
  • Support business development initiatives across the firm.ย ย

Requirements


What You'll Bringย 

  • ABET-accredited BS or MS in civil or environmental engineering.ย 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington.ย 
  • 15+ years of environmental consulting experience, including investigation, remediation system design, and implementation.ย 
  • Strong engineering design capabilities across multiple contaminants and remedial technologies (air sparge, SVE, MPE, in-situ treatment, excavation, engineering controls).ย 
  • Experience developing cleanup strategies and associated cost estimates.ย 
  • Working knowledge of MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA, and related regulatory guidance.ย 
  • Experience with VCP cleanups.ย ย 
  • Permitting experience (PSCAA, CSGP, NPDES, local jurisdictions).ย 
  • Experience communicating with Local, State, and Federal regulators.ย 
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.ย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of proposals and technical reports.ย 
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams on business development strategies.ย 
  • Experience developing new clients or practice areas.ย ย 

Bonus Skillsย 

  • Familiarity with GIS, data management, and analytical methods.ย 
  • Experience with PFAS, air compliance, sediment remediation, or stormwater permitting.ย 
  • Knowledge of SPCC, SWPPP, Industrial Stormwater Permits, or Sand & Gravel Permits.ย

Pay Rangeย ย 

Our best estimate of the base salary range for this position, located in the Seattle/Bellevue, Washington area, is $165,000 - $205,000 annually. Employees are eligible for an annual cash bonus based on firm and individual performance. Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, and internal equity. Salary ranges are reviewed annually.
