The City of Boise Department of Aviation is seeking an Airport Director to serve as the chief executive responsible for the leadership, management, and long-term success of Boise Airport (BOI). Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff – Public Safety & Infrastructure, this executive role provides strategic direction for all aspects of airport operations, financial stewardship, capital development, commercial growth, and organizational performance. The Airport Director ensures the airport operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations while advancing Boise’s strategic vision for regional connectivity and economic development. The Director fosters strong partnerships with airlines, tenants, government agencies, business leaders, and the community. Twenty years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience, including management of a small or medium hub commercial airport; additional senior airport leadership experience preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Twenty years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience, including management of a small or medium hub commercial airport; additional senior airport leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in airport operations, financial management, commercial development, master planning, and capital improvement programs.
- Proven success leading complex negotiations, stakeholder engagement, and organizational strategy within a public-sector aviation environment.
- Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation or comparable professional credential preferred.
