Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Carrollton, TX

Duration: 4-6 months

Experience: 5โ€“10 Years

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and testing of Oil & Gas completion tools, with a strong focus on Packers and Sand Control / Flow Control tools.

This is a hands-on engineering role involving design, testing, validation, and documentation of downhole tools. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new product development (NPD) projects for Oil & Gas completion tools
  • Design and develop 3D models of parts, assemblies, prototypes, and test fixtures using SolidWorks
  • Perform testing of Oil & Gas completion tools, including packers and sand/flow control tools
  • Execute product validation and qualification testing
  • Perform engineering design calculations to support tool development
  • Create design calculators to assist with engineering analysis
  • Author and execute test procedures
  • Document test results through formal test reports
  • Work closely with engineering and testing teams to meet project timelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5โ€“10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Strong experience with Oil & Gas completion tools, especially:
    • Packers
    • Sand Control tools
    • Flow Control tools
  • Hands-on product testing experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
  • Experience performing engineering design calculations
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with product development testing in lab or field environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
