Job description

About the Role:

The Competitive Coach (CC) will be accountable for the successful management and organization of their team(s) within Eastshore Alliance FC. The CC shall provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to all players within their team(s) and the club. The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with soccer players of all ages, as well as coaches and staff. The candidate will have a strong passion to take the club to the next level that aligns with the clubโ€™s mission, vision, and values. As a key leader in the club, the CC will be looked upon for professionalism, mindfulness, organization and good communication. The CC is expected to be a positive role model on and off the field by exhibiting Eastshore Alliance FCโ€™s core values: player-centered, growth mindset, respect, collaboration, and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience coaching competitive soccer teams at youth, amateur, or professional levels.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer rules, tactics, and training methodologies.
  • Relevant coaching certification such as US Soccer Federation licenses or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate players.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate training and game schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching at the NPL, ECNL-RL, high school, collegiate or higher levels.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience with video analysis software and performance tracking tools.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field.

On-Field Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Competitive Coach for the team(s) assigned to you by the DOC, including the BEARS program, as applicable
  • Serve as an Assistant Coach or Substitute Coach as needed
  • Run summer camp(s)/ trainings for your team(s) as scheduled by the DOCโ€™s
  • Train your team(s) for the allocated number of sessions per week through the last game of each season within the clubโ€™s methodology (summer, fall, winter, spring)
  • Be present and engaged at all games, including warm-up, cool down and debrief
  • Attend the designated number of tournaments with your team(s) as defined by the DOCโ€™s
  • Participate and support the Alliance tryout process when assigned by the DOCโ€™s
  • Identify, manage, and evaluate ongoing player development needs and issues
  • Coach at EAFC camps as assigned by the Camp Coordinator and the DOCโ€™s


On-Field Responsibilities:

  • Run a pre-season meeting for your team(s) to outline the upcoming season calendar
  • In conjunction with your team(s), create goals for individual players and for the team prior to the first game of each season
  • Attend parent meetings and other team activities for your team(s)
  • Create a plan for each session and game per EAFC standards
  • Complete compliance requirements by the assigned due date
  • Complete seasonal periodization for your team(s) prior to the start of the seasons using the club-provided periodization template
  • Provide the DOC with reasonable advance notice for planned absences and coordinate coverage with appropriate coaches
  • Provide a verbal mid-season evaluation to each player by the end of the fall season
  • Provide an end-of-season evaluation to each player prior to the tryout window
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Eastshore Alliance FC Employee Handbook, Coach Code of Conduct, and carry out responsibilities in accordance with club policies and all applicable laws, particularly regarding the safeguarding of youth/minor players
  • Attend club-wide meetings, coach meetings and training programs. If unable to attend, it is your responsibility to follow up with the age-appropriate DOC to collect any missed information
  • Attend and participate in EAFC community events as an ambassador for the club (Raise Craze, Fรบtbol Fiesta, and more)
  • Hold an age-group appropriate coaching license (or be on course to earn one)
  • In case of inclement weather, complete an alternative training session with DOC approval
  • Wear EAFC coach apparel at all practices, games, tournaments, clinics, camps, tryouts, events, and other activities when representing the club
  • As assigned by the DOCโ€™s, utilize the video analysis software to review game film and use as an educational tool with your team(s)
  • Track your working hours in ADP and submit them prior to the end of each pay period. If overtime is required, permission must be granted by the DOC and the EDFA
  • Ensure quality service by communicating with players, families, and staff in a timely manner (within 24 - 48 hours)


Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time.

Full-time positions may become available.
