Painter, Independent Contractor
Description
CertaPro Painters of Saskatoon is looking for an experienced, insured professional painting subcontractor to form a long-term partnership with. If you are looking for steady and immediate work painting homes and commercial buildings, we want to hear from you.
Our painters are experienced, produce high quality jobs, have high attention to detail, are punctual and reliable, and have a passion for painting. We treat our painters and crews like a partnership, and offer a busy schedule with quick, consistent pay. We provide a clear, detailed scope of work and offer competitive pay.
Your commitment is to make customers happy and to do so, your crew will be organized and motivated. You will also provide your own tools and transportation.
Job Responsibilities
  • Complete projects according to work orders in a timely and professional fashion with high quality
  • Inspect surfaces and determine appropriate primers, paints, finishes, and tools for application
  • Cover furniture, fixtures, and exposed surfaces for protection before starting projects
  • Apply paint, stain, coatings, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brush painting, roller painting, or airless spray equipment
  • Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as masking, scraping, sanding, and pressure-washing with expertise
  • Repair cracks, dents, holes and other minor surface damage
  • Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture
  • Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages
  • Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles
  • Ensure that all health and safety requirements are followed at all times by self and crew members, as per company standards
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area on job sites with daily clean-ups
  • Work well with customers, contractors, and other trades
  • Maintain regular contact with customers both in person and via phone, providing excellent professional customer service
  • Communicates regularly with Production Supervisor
  • Attend all meetings as scheduled by Production Supervisor
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3 years of professional experience successfully completing commercial and residential painting projects, verifiable through references
  • Experience working on painting projects of all sizes
  • Knowledge of various painting techniques and comfortable using different painting tools on various surfaces
  • Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Own a vehicle to transport tools and crew members to job sites
  • Able to sit, stand, kneel, lift, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks
  • Customer service oriented and friendly with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and time management skills
  • Great attention to detail, positive attitude, reliable, and strong work ethic
  • Eager to take on projects and deliver extraordinary experiences to CertaPro customers
  • Drywall skill is considered a huge asset!
  • Commercial Liability Insurance and WCB in good standing
Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Occasional after-hours work
  • Occasional weekend work
