Job Description:

This position supports the firm's revenue growth by helping develop strategic, client-focused proposals and pitch materials. Working as part of the Pursuits Team, this role collaborates with lawyers, business development professionals, and other team members to produce high-quality content that positions the firm competitively for new business opportunities.

The individual in this role will contribute to the pursuit process by coordinating logistics, customizing content, and ensuring deadlines are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

Strategic Support & Execution

  • Actively collaborate with lawyers, Practice & Sectors and Client Teams business professionals, subject matter experts, and other key team members to develop clear, compelling, winning proposals.

  • Act as a key partner to pursuit leaders, supporting the goal of identifying differentiators, win themes, and growth opportunities leveraging competitive intelligence data and knowledge of market trends.

  • Mentor and guide Administrators and other team members to foster a high-performing, client-focused environment.

Pursuit Development

  • Responsible for leading and managing the development of practice and sector specific pursuits, including single-practice opportunities.

  • Develop, organize, and manage content for pursuits and related collateral within the firm's proposal generator tool.

  • Manage fast-paced content contribution process while maintaining version control.

  • Ability to work flexibly to adapt to lawyer preferences and provide high level of client service.

  • Work with design team to develop creative and information graphics. Provide overall quality control for all pursuit materials; apply brand standards to proposals and presentations.

  • Identify issues with conflicts or other firm protocols and escalate to senior members of the Pursuits Team.

Collaboration & Integration

  • Foster collaboration across practices, sectors, and department verticals to encourage knowledge sharing and integrated approaches.

  • Collaborate closely with the Pursuits Director, other senior members of the Marketing Leadership Team, and other business services teams to ensure integration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Track all proposal information required to develop reports in firm database.

  • Leverage technology, data, analytics, and client feedback to monitor the competitive landscape and inform strategy.

Innovation

  • Adopt and promote the use of marketing technology and tools.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance client value and operational efficiency.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

  • Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the firm's attendance expectations.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrate robust project management skills.

  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills and ability to prioritize.

  • A quasi-journalistic ability to quickly grasp specialist knowledge and then make it clear for external parties.

  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to "get smart quick" on a wide variety of topics.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Experience and foresight to anticipate potential issues and devise contingency plans.

  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel and diplomatically interact with difficult personalities.

SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and proposal generator tools (e.g., Foundation) is a plus.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience (8-plus years) in legal or professional services marketing, business development, or strategy, with a track record of leadership and impact.

  • Strong record of working with leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD) preferred.
