Pay Range: $65,000 - $70, 000 DOE

POSITION SUMMARY

The pricing analyst's role involves examining competitor pricing aligned with market expectations to establish the optimal target price for our products. This position is expected to create, maintain, and consistently update pricing templates to meet the rapid response needs of the portfolio.

They will be creating reports to assess the findings and propose the results to the relevant departments for implementation.

The Pricing Analyst works closely with the Pricing Director, Pricing Manager, Sales, Marketing, and Purchasing functions to identify pricing opportunities and effective pricing strategies. This position communicates findings to leadership, offers recommendations to enhance regional pricing strategies that lead to an optimum pricing structure, as well as assists in identifying potential areas of improvement in the pricing process.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Generates, processes and presents data reports for analysis using multiple reporting and database programs.
  • Inputs and maintains customer account pricing; participates in streamlining, automating and enhancing daily processes.
  • Gathers, maintains and analyzes market data to develop competitive pricing strategies; provides recommendations and quantifies impacts of potential price actions.
  • Evaluates and validates effects of pricing adjustments; offers recommendations to improve gross profit at the product and customer levels.
  • Analyzes and reviews customer pricing levels with consideration to customer profile and market information; works with the Sales team to ensure pricing maximizes profit at the customer level.
  • Examines discount override transactions; identifies and quantifies areas of opportunities to improve pricing strategies.
  • Analyzes product acquisition cost and selling price, both current and historic, to identify trends at the product level.
  • Provides support to and collaborates with the Pricing team in all pricing related duties.
  • Supports Manager and Director and executes direction set by management of the Pricing Department.
  • All duties as assigned.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Team player with strong project management capabilities.
  • A good sense of finance or accounting principles.
  • Previous experience with retail or wholesale pricing and cost analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize work duties along with deadline pressures.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and summarize to key actionable conclusions.
  • Clear understanding of the principles of product pricing, elasticity and competitive analysis.
  • Requires strong mathematical, presentation and strategic thinking skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or other relevant discipline.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in Pricing or related field.
  • 2+ years of data analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management programs with expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and SQL Server Management Studio.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.

BASE PAY:

The listed range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this opportunity at the time of this posting. Actual compensation is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s experience, education, certifications, knowledge, skills and geography/ work location, and may ultimately be more or less than the posted range. Base pay does not include other forms of compensation, such as our offered benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA and 401k plan, holiday, sick and vacation days.
