The Role:

The Compensation Consultant serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading compensation strategy, job evaluation, and enterprise compensation initiatives. This role operates as a strategic partner to HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders while providing functional oversight and guidance to the Compensation Analyst.


This position is accountable to ensure compensation practices are consistent, market-aligned, and defensible. The role leads job architecture and leveling efforts, supports complex hiring and organizational decisions, and drives compensation governance across the organization. In addition, the Compensation Consultant develops and delivers manager training, communication, and tools to ensure clear and consistent application of compensation programs.


This role acts as a delegate for the Department Manager in day-to-day decision making and serves as a key escalation point for complex or sensitive compensation decisions.

Day to Day:

Compensation Strategy & Consulting

  • Serve as the primary compensation consultant to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders
  • Provide guidance on job leveling, role design, promotions, and organizational changes
  • Advise on complex compensation decisions, balancing market competitiveness, internal equity, and business need
  • Influence leaders by translating compensation concepts into clear, practical recommendations

Job Evaluation & Architecture 

  • Lead enterprise job evaluation and leveling activities
  • Ensure consistency across business units
  • Partner with leadership on organizational design and role clarity

Offer Strategy & Hiring Governance

  • Lead compensation strategy for complex hiring decisions
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition
  • Serve as escalation point for high-risk offer decisions

Governance & Framework Ownership

  • Own and maintain compensation frameworks and decision guidelines
  • Ensure consistent application across the organization
  • Identify gaps and drive improvements

Oversight of Compensation Analyst

  • Provide direction and review outputs for accuracy and consistency

Compensation Programs & Projects

  • Lead salary structure updates, incentive plan support, and pay equity analysis

Manager Training & Communication

  • Develop and deliver manager training
  • Create communication materials and tools

Governance, Compliance & Defensibility

  • Ensure audit-ready documentation
  • Support regulatory and compliance needs

Upstream Partnership

  • Engage early in org design and hiring discussions
  • Identify compensation risks proactively

Physical, Environmental & Scheduling Requirements 


This position operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid work schedule. Employees are expected to work onsite at a designated company location a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining work performed remotely, subject to business needs and manager direction. 


Work is primarily sedentary and involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment such as keyboards, monitors, and telephones. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of light materials (generally up to 15 pounds) may be required. 


The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to participate in virtual and in-person meetings. 


Work is generally performed during standard business hours; however, schedule flexibility may be required to support business needs, project deadlines, or collaboration across time zones.

Base salary range: $98,450.00 - $140,300.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Level 3, 9.5% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% – 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
