Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Project Manager in Tempe, AZ. The Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving the successful execution of high-quality MEP construction projects from pre-planning through final closeout. The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a mandatory background in engineering or construction science and a minimum of seven years of experience managing complex projects within the construction industry.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $100,000 to $120,350 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the successful completion of high-quality projects within specified timelines and budgets while proactively managing scope changes.
  • Conduct thorough material assessments and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure project success.
  • Review project reports to determine status, provide cost and budget analysis, and perform final contract cost evaluations.
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings, including pre-job planning sessions, to align team members with customer expectations and company standards.
  • Assemble and review project estimates, ensuring the proper loading of financial data into the project cost system.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the contract, including monthly billings, cash flow monitoring, and final project closeout/inactivation.
  • Develop and maintain current project schedules, resolving conflicts to ensure alignment with the master project schedule.
  • Lead and mentor other project managers, providing technical expertise and facilitating conflict resolution with stakeholders, vendors, and trades.
  • Identify and implement policies and procedures aimed at continuous aggressive improvement and operational excellence.
  • Visit job sites to perform work inspections, check progress, and resolve project and contract issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in successfully leading projects and programs within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on-schedule and within established budget parameters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence change and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to show a drive for results and maintain accountability for business needs.
  • Decisiveness in resolving business problems, making quick decisions, and identifying critical priorities.
  • Experience in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) industry or critical environment construction is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to report project issues to management in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to visit job sites and onsite offices to perform work inspections.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands to operate computers and office equipment.
  • May be exposed to heights, loud noises, and inclement weather conditions during site visits.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing of stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be aware of OSHA safety standards and follow site-specific safety protocols.
