Job description

Responsibilities

The Compensation Manager manages compensation programs and goals to meet objectives. Provides analytical expertise and business support to ensure company compensation programs are externally competitive and internally equitable. Administers company compensation programs, practices and procedures in compliance with external regulations and internal policies.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the design, implementation, administration, and communication of company compensation programs including base compensation, sales compensation, and variable compensation.
  • Manages compensation level structures, participates in salary surveys, and performs job evaluations including job classification for all non-executive jobs.
  • Manages salary administration programs, reviewing changes in wages and salaries for conformance to policy. Audits evaluation of positions and application of existing classifications to individuals.
  • Manages the companyโ€™s relocation, auto allowance and severance programs.
  • Provide support to People Operations and managers in preparing job descriptions, evaluating jobs, or in reviewing salaries for internal employees and external candidates.
  • Provide support with training People Operations and managers concerning interpretation of compensation practices, policies and guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Assists the Head of Total Rewards with projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education:ย 

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in compensation function. Working knowledge of compensation program analysis, job evaluation techniques, market pricing, and processes. Prior managerial experience preferred.ย 

Technical Skills:ย 

  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and primarily Excel

Interpersonal/Communication Skills:

  • Strong Oral/Written Communication and Interpersonal, and Customer Service skills; ability to communicate effectively with a high degree of professionalismย ย ย ย 
  • Frequent interactions with a wide variety of internal and external contacts, with all levels of authority and responsibility
  • Ability to react and respond favorably, manage conflict and resolve problems in a professional mannerย 
  • Team Player; and demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teamsย ย ย ย ย ย ย
