Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries Manufacturing Automation Organization is seeking summer interns at the Fab 9 Burlington Vermont site. This team supports factory daily operations and is responsible for the automation equipment and mobile robotics platforms in the factory.
The FAB 9 Manufacturing Automation organization is responsible for engineering support, development and continuous improvement of our factory operations. This intern will assist the Factory Automation team in building and installing new automated manufacturing cells; improving existing automation equipment and enabling manufacturing cell readiness for future automation.
Essential Responsibilities include:
  • Support design, assembly and integration of automated/robotic manufacturing cells
  • Support enabling manufacturing cell readiness for future automation
  • Support evaluation and improvement of existing or future automated equipment
  • Successful candidates will be comfortable leading improvement projects and working on a diverse team in a manufacturing environment.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education - A junior at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's - Majoring in Engineering or Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Previous experience with robotics and automation
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
