Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations to identify clients’ mental health concerns and create personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individualized therapy sessions utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems therapy, to encourage client growth and resilience.
  • Set collaborative therapeutic goals with clients and monitor progress through regular feedback and assessments.
  • Facilitate teletherapy sessions for clients who may struggle with transportation or prefer virtual communication, ensuring accessibility to essential mental health services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to ethical and legal standards, while using a designated electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, attending workshops and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and stay updated with the latest therapeutic trends.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals and families facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our goal is to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space that enables clients to share their experiences and work towards sustainable wellness. The collaborative nature of our practice allows for holistic treatment approaches that consider various life factors affecting mental health.

Qualifications
  • A valid and active license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Virginia.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Exhibit empathy, support, and an open-minded approach to client care, creating a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Effective organizational skills and time management to balance a caseload effectively, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
