Kindergarten or First Grade Teacher  (2026–2027 School Year)

Shepherd of the Coast Christian School is seeking a faith-filled, skilled, and mission-driven educator to serve as our Kindergarten  or First Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year.

This position requires a teacher who can lead with confidence, clarity, compassion, and conviction, while fully supporting the mission and culture of our school.

Key Qualifications

  • A professing Christian with a clear testimony and an active, growing faith in Jesus Christ

  • A heart for Christian education and ministry

  • Bachelor’s degree required; teacher certification preferred

  • Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in elementary or middle school

  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills

  • Ability to teach Bible faithfully and Social Studies accurately through a Biblical worldview

  • Proficient in using educational technology and school database systems

  • Organized, dependable, and relationally strong

  • Able to partner effectively with parents and work collaboratively with colleagues

  • Creative, patient, hardworking, and coachable

  • A quick starter who adapts well to high expectations and a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to volunteer preparation time over the Holiday Break, due to the immediate instructional needs of the position

Position Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and developmentally appropriate Bible and Social Studies lessons for grades 3–5

  • Integrate Christian faith intentionally into instruction and daily interactions

  • Maintain high academic, behavioral, and spiritual standards

  • Foster a classroom environment where every student feels safe, supported, and challenged

  • Communicate clearly, promptly, and professionally with families

  • Support the overall mission, vision, and culture of Shepherd of the Coast
