In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be tasked with:

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify their specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Providing individual and group counseling sessions tailored to address the unique emotional challenges and transitions associated with aging.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to design and implement comprehensive treatment plans that encompass the holistic needs of geriatric clients.
• Educating family members and staff on effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and overall quality of life for our senior residents.
• Leading grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families facing end-of-life issues, offering support during these pivotal times.
• Implementing cognitive stimulation therapies and other mental health interventions designed to encourage mental acuity and engagement among elderly individuals.

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients, many of whom face difficult life changes, including loss of loved ones, health crises, and transitions to assisted living. By employing evidence-based practices and individualized treatment plans, you will play a crucial role in supporting their emotional journeys. To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Washington State.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in providing mental health support and counseling specifically for geriatric patients.
• Demonstrated additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and issues related to aging.
• Proficiency in implementing evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting mental well-being in older adults.

Ideal candidates will have experience utilizing various therapy modalities tailored for elderly clients, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy.
