We are seeking a highly strategic and customer-obsessed Senior Product Manager - Data Compass Experience & AI to lead the vision, roadmap, and execution of Data Compass's user experience and AI-powered capabilities. This leader will shape how associates discover trusted data, interact with AI assistants, navigate analytics experiences, and efficiently complete data-related tasks across the enterprise.
Position Summary
The Senior Product Manager will own the end-to-end experience strategy across Data Compass, including Compass AI, conversational experiences, search and discovery, personalization, self-service analytics journeys, and cross-platform navigation patterns.
This role sits at the intersection of product management, user experience, artificial intelligence, analytics, data governance, and platform engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, design, data governance, analytics, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver intuitive and trustworthy experiences that reduce friction and accelerate decision-making.
This position is hybrid requiring 2-3 days in office per week in either Palo Alto, CA; Bethesda, MD; Seattle, WA.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
  • Define and drive the multi-year product vision for Data Compass Experience and AI.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap aligned to Data Compass strategic priorities, including:
  • AI-powered data discovery
  • Self-service analytics
  • Unified data experiences
  • Personalized user experiences
  • Intelligent recommendations
  • Balance user needs, business objectives, governance requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Establish success metrics and outcome-based product goals.

Compass AI Product Leadership
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Compass AI.
  • Define conversational experiences that help users discover, understand, and use trusted enterprise data.
  • Lead initiatives including:
    • Intent-based discovery
    • Multi-agent experiences
    • Chat with metrics
    • Personalized recommendations
    • Ambient AI experiences
    • Agentic workflows and actions
  • Ensure AI experiences provide trustworthy, explainable, and actionable outcomes for users.
User Experience & Platform Experience
  • Drive a unified Data Compass experience across catalog, quality, lineage, classification, analytics, and future platform capabilities.
  • Partner with UX designers to create intuitive workflows and design standards.
  • Define information architecture, navigation patterns, search experiences, and user journeys.
  • Improve discoverability of trusted data assets and analytics resources.
  • Lead personalization and permission-aware user experiences.
Self-Service Analytics Experience
  • Drive the product vision for business-friendly self-service analytics experiences.
  • Enable associates to move seamlessly from question to discovery, trust validation, insight, and action.
  • Partner with analytics, reporting, and engineering teams to create intuitive analytics discovery and consumption experiences.
  • Define experiences that help users find metrics, reports, dashboards, and data products quickly and confidently.
Customer & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Conduct user research and customer discovery across business and technical audiences.
  • Develop deep understanding of user workflows, pain points, and adoption barriers.
  • Partner with senior business leaders, data teams, governance stakeholders, and technology organizations.
  • Champion a culture of evidence-based product decisions and measurable outcomes.
Product Execution
  • Own product requirements, prioritization, roadmap planning, and release execution.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, architecture, AI/ML, and platform teams.
  • Define success metrics and use telemetry to improve adoption and satisfaction.
  • Drive iterative experimentation and continuous learning.

Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience delivering software products or digital platforms.
  • Experience leading customer-facing product initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong experience with:
    • AI-enabled products
    • Search and discovery experiences
  • Analytics or data products
  • Enterprise software platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience defining product strategy using data, research, and customer insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience equivalent required. MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
Preferred
  • Experience with conversational AI, copilots, or agent-based systems.
  • Experience building products in data, analytics, governance, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Understanding of:
    • Data catalogs
    • Metadata management
    • Data quality
    • Data lineage
    • Enterprise analytics ecosystems
  • Familiarity with human-centered design and UX methodologies.

Within the first 12-18 months, success in this role may be measured through:

Annual Salary
$146,575.00 - $229,600.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
