Job description

The Family Office Management group at Bessemer Trust provides accounting and financial reporting services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, and is currently seeking an Accountant with strong accounting experience for a position in their Woodbridge, New Jersey office.
The primary focus of this position will be to input, analyze, and summarize both current and historical financial data to support the preparation of various unaudited statements, including balance sheets, net worth statements, income and expense reports, budgets, cash flow statements, and estate plan summaries.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Record each client's personal and investment income and expenses, ensuring reconciliation to monthly bank or broker statements and annual 1099s.
  • Record alternative investment transactions and reconcile to corresponding K-1s., as needed.
  • Prepare adjusting and eliminating journal entries for monthly or quarterly consolidations, as needed.
  • Respond promptly to client information requests, including ad hoc analyses, reporting needs, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal other departments (payroll, bill pay, consolidated investment reporting and tax) and clients' external advisors.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with 0-2 years of experience in preparing and analyzing financial information
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software, Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a client service orientation and professional demeanor
  • Tax and/or financial reporting experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client assignments, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to exercise tact, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
