Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups. The physician will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions while maintaining long-term relationships with patients. The position involves managing an individual patient panel, excluding approximately 1,250 patients, and performing preventive care and routine primary care visits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with patients.
  • Perform preventive care and routine primary care visits.
  • Conduct women's health examinations and other appropriate primary care procedures.
  • Utilize onsite laboratory and point-of-care resources.
  • Coordinate referrals and ongoing patient care.
  • Participate in population health and care-management initiatives.
  • Complete clinical documentation and administrative responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APCs, MAs, and other clinical staff.
  • Serve as an informal clinical resource/mentor to colleagues when appropriate.
  • Maintain a high-quality, patient-centered approach to care.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in primary care or a similar setting preferred.

Skills
  • Experience managing a diverse, all-age patient population.
  • Experience with chronic disease management and preventive care.
  • Experience with women's health.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience.
  • Strong interest in building long-term patient relationships.

Additional Requirements
Typical schedule options include 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts per week with no on-call requirement. Administrative tasks require approximately 8-10 hours per week.
