Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux systems, including advanced skills in kickstarting, applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and bash scripting. This role involves managing, optimizing, and securing our Linux infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability.

Essential Functions:

  • Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
  • Experience with Kickstart. Design, implement, and manage automated Linux installations using Kickstart for efficient system provisioning and deployment.
  • Experience in software installation and ability to troubleshoot application compatibility.
  • Experience with testing applications such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, SVN.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Experience with Virtualization (KVM/VMware) and backup technologies such as Commvault, NAS, SAN, SAS, iSCSI
  • Experience with administration of Splunk Enterprise
  • Ability to automate repetitive and/or complicated tasks using bash
  • Collaborative efforts with ISSOs to support audits, maintain STIG compliance, conduct risk assessments, and remediate Nessus/STIG scan findings.
  • Responsible for implementing security patches, conducting system scans, remediate findings, and participate in audits to ensure system integrity.
  • Committed to supporting critical operations during standard business hours and providing flexible support as needed outside standard hours.
  • Work is 100% on-site and cannot be accomplished remotely.
  • Travel up to 10%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Current/active security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI polygraph, if applicable.
  • Ability within 6 months of hire to achieve Security+CE

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Red Hat Certification (RHCSA or RHCE)
  • Experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), build management, and/or automated test frameworks
  • Experience with Podman and/or containerization technologies
  • Experience with Active Directory (AD)
