Job Description SALARY RANGE $140,000 - $200,000/year DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Database Administrator II role, you will support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of database systems across both on-premises and cloud-based environments. You will work closely with a small, highly skilled team to ensure database reliability, performance, and security while contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and automation efforts. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who is eager to learn new technologies, troubleshoot complex issues, and think creatively to deliver effective database solutions. Required Skills SKILLS * Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of databases
* Establish and maintain database user accounts
* Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of databases
* Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes
* Evaluate requirements and recommend appropriate DBMS products
* Provide server administration support across database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase
* Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and data monitoring
* Develop and enforce policies and procedures for database security and integrity
* Perform database and software lifecycle activities to ensure high system performance and availability
* Support data modeling activities through prototype database implementations
* Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineers (DBEs)
* Oversee monitoring, administration, and performance optimization of database systems, including index development, structural redesign, and data reloading
* Oversee installation of database management systems, databases, tables, and views
* Lead the administration and adoption of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologies QUALIFICATIONS Ten (10) years of experience as a DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Additional Requirements: * Demonstrable experience supporting MS SQL, MariaDB, and/or Oracle databases
* Experience with index and performance management
* Experience troubleshooting issues with instances and applications
* Experience with backup and recovery processes
* Ability to work with diverse teams in support of a common mission
* Effective communication skills CERTIFICATIONS Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, CCNA) Desired Skills * Knowledge of AWS services, specifically RDS
* Experience with PowerShell/Python scripting to automate repetitive tasks
* Exposure to Commvault backup solutions
* Knowledge of SQL Server AlwaysOn
* Knowledge of Windows Event Log Filtering
* Knowledge of Windows Task Scheduler Setup and Management
* Experience supporting SharePoint implementations
