Commute information

What is a commute?

A Commute job refers to a position that requires employees to travel from their home to a workplace regularly. This can involve various modes of transportation such as driving, public transit, biking, or walking. The duration and distance of the commute can vary based on location and job requirements. Some companies offer benefits like commuter stipends or flexible hours to ease commuting challenges. With remote work becoming more common, some jobs now offer hybrid options to reduce commuting time.

What does a commute refer to in the context of work?

A commute refers to the regular journey that an individual makes between their home and workplace. This can involve various modes of transportation, such as driving, taking public transit, biking, or walking. The length and nature of a commute can significantly impact a person's daily routine, work-life balance, and overall job satisfaction. Employers may sometimes offer flexible work arrangements or benefits to help ease commuting challenges.

What are the most common challenges faced by employees in commute-related roles, and how can they be addressed?

Employees in commute-related roles, such as transit coordinators or transportation planners, often face challenges like unpredictable traffic patterns, coordinating multiple transportation modes, and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders. Balancing efficiency and safety, while managing unexpected delays or disruptions, can be demanding. Building strong collaboration with city officials, transportation agencies, and technology providers helps mitigate these challenges, as does staying up-to-date with emerging mobility solutions and data analytics tools.

Job description

Live in Frisco or McKinney - Work Nights with an Established Hospital Medicine Team as a Nocturnist Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – A Role Designed for You

We believe in bringing "better" to our local community in Denison, Texas—better care, better collaboration, and a deep commitment to the people we serve. We'd love to talk if you're looking for a role that supports your professional growth and connection to a vibrant community.

If you’re living in Denison or in the North Dallas suburbs (McKinney, Frisco, Prosper), this opportunity offers both professional growth and a manageable commute. Many of our current clinicians live in those communities and drive approximately 45 minutes.

We are hiring for a nocturnist acute care nurse practitioner position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and can deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit team of 28 physicians at Texoma Medical Center.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/eligible acute care nurse practitioner.
  • Active license or eligible to become licensed in Texas.
  • At least one year of hospital medicine experience is required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • This position offers a 5-days-on, 10-days-off rotation.
  • Nocturnist work hours are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily cross-coverage, but could require a few admissions on busier nights.
  • Two nocturnist physicians and one advanced practice clinician at night.

Living and Working in the North Dallas Suburbs:

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds by building your career at Texoma Medical Center while living in one of North Texas' most desirable communities. Many of our physicians and advanced practice providers choose to call McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, or the surrounding North Dallas suburbs home, taking advantage of top-rated schools, vibrant dining and entertainment, and a high quality of life within an approximately 45-minute commute. Whether you're seeking a family-friendly neighborhood, a thriving suburban community, or easy access to the amenities of the Dallas metro area, this opportunity allows you to enjoy the lifestyle you want while making a meaningful impact caring for patients in the welcoming community of Denison.

Rewards and Compensation:

  • Market-leading salary and rewarding bonus structure.
  • Sign-on bonus available.
