11th Hour Hospice Volunteer Houston
Constellation Health Services' Hospice program is looking for volunteers to visit patients who have terminal illnesses. Make a difference in your community, be part of the hospice team, and have a flexible volunteer schedule. A few hours a week can make a big difference to someone nearing the end of life!
11th Hour Volunteer Position Description:
  • Caring presence for patients nearing death, including emotional support, spiritual support, and comfort measures
  • Desire to support patients and families at the time when a patient is actively dying
  • Comfortable with the death and dying process
  • Be a listener
  • Sit with patients during shifts to provide comforting presence
  • Advocate for the patient as needed

Requirements:
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Able to commit for one year to our program.
  • Able to commit to at least 4 hours per Month
  • Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where they're at in energy and tone.
  • Online at your convenience training takes approximately 6-10 hours and is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy
