Job description

Position Title: Community Therapist

Join Our Mission to Empower and Transform Lives

FITT (Family Intensive Treatment Team) is an intensive, 90-day in-home therapeutic program, for youth who are at risk of out-of-home placement (e.g. hospitalization, residential, foster care). As a FITT Community Therapist, you will utilize a team approach to youth and family support. Position is full time salary but flexible and therapists carry an average caseload of four clients.

As part of the Family Intensive Treatment Team (FITT) you will provide the following:

  • Provides individual and family counseling services within the community utilizing a strength-based, trauma informed approach.
  • Provide on-going crisis/risk assessments
  • Work in partnership with youth and their families to find common approaches to problem solving, crisis de-escalation and increased effective communication strategies.
  • Work closely with Family Support Specialist (FSS) to provide support for caregivers/guardians.
  • Maintain a case load of 4 youth/families with services provided
  • Assist with on-call rotations
  • Attending all staff meetings, agency training and community training as assigned by FITT Director.
  • Work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues for accomplishing the goals of the program.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in the following areas: mental health counseling, psychology, social work or a behavioral health field with a focus on therapeutic treatment.
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical diagnoses using the DSM and interventions to address mental health conditions.
  • A passion for working with youth and their families.
