Major Areas of Accountability
Community Theatre Staff
Community Theatre Staff positions include Director, Stage Manager, Props Manager, Backstage Crew, Costuming/Wigs and special consultants. All positions work on Expressions Community Theater productions and report to the Arts Center Manager. This is a general application for theatre staff. LAAC and Expressions are always looking to expand the creative team. Specific positions are hired per production.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience in one or more of the positions listed about is required.
2026 Community Theatre Staff pay rates are $11.46-13.67 per hour, DOQ.
Theatre Teaching Artist
Theatre Teaching Artists lead a variety of theatre classes and camps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre education and a proven ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments. Candidates should have a passion for theatre education, experience teaching theatre and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D and have professional training or experience in theatre education.
2026 Theatre Teaching Artist pay rates are $34.02-40.57 per hour, DOQ.
Visual Arts Instructor
Art Instructors are instrumental in fostering creativity and artistic growth in students of all ages. We offer a diverse range of art mediums, including textiles, glass fusing, stained glass, painting, drawing, multimedia, printmaking, jewelry making, and precious metal clay, creating a rich and dynamic educational environment! In addition to teaching, you will contribute to promoting classes and represent the Arts Center at community events, exhibitions, and outreach activities, further strengthening our connection to the community.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D and a degree, or coursework leading to a degree, in art or art education, or equivalent experience in art or art education. Candidates must have 1-2 years of teaching experience in a classroom or workshop setting teaching visual arts to students, and have strong time management, communication, and customer service skills.
2026 Art Instructor pay rates are $31.07-37.05 per hour, DOQ.
Pottery Instructor
Pottery Instructors teach pottery to students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced potters, guiding them through techniques such as wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, and surface decoration. You will be responsible for managing the pottery studio environment and ensuring safe and effective use of tools and equipment. You will develop engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and provide hands-on demonstrations that inspire creativity and technical growth.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D and a degree, or coursework leading to a degree, in art or art education, or equivalent experience in art or art education. Candidates must have 1-2 years of teaching experience in a classroom or workshop setting teaching pottery to students, and have strong time management, communication, and customer service skills.
2026 Art Instructor pay rates are $34.02-40.57 per hour, DOQ.
