The Arc of Rensselaer County is hiring a Community Support Specialist to work in one of our day programs. You'll support people with disabilities as they learn new skills, take part in fun activities, and connect with their community. It's a role where you'll see the impact of your work every day. What You'll Do

As a Community Support Specialist, you will:

  • Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a day program setting.
  • Help individuals create meaningful plans to build skills, develop relationships, and participate in their communities.
  • Support community inclusion by helping individuals engage in meaningful activities, while maintaining regular communication with team members about each person's goals and support needs.
  • Encourage people as they try out new volunteer opportunities, hobbies, and interests-helping them grow in ways that matter to them.
